308 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GR.{George Ratcliffe} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/R.31.5.37. STARTING ON THE P.III. Customers are complaining that they cannot start the P.III on hills. We know the P.III will flood when facing up a steep gradient. We have told the Service Dept. that the customer can start a car if he will open the hand throttle, leave the accelerator pedal alone, and press the starter button as if he meant it. Will you make some test, and write out a memo for the Instruction book, telling a customer exactly how to proceed in order to get the best starting under these conditions.
