Notes of Meeting.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} stressed once more the importance of secrecy.

Everybody appreciates the importance of pushing on with work generally in connection with SpectreCodename for Phantom III.

The SpectreCodename for Phantom III frame bump test chassis is now being tested.

BENTLEY.

Experimental Car 5-B-IV. In view of the pressure of work in connection with SpectreCodename for Phantom III it was doubted whether it would be possible still to get this car away at the end of January with the special features formerly referred to.

The list was gone carefully through with a view to seeing whether there were any items of great importance, bearing in mind that we had not yet been able to standardise all the points tested on 4-B-IV.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} pointed out that one of the most important points on the Bentley, in view of increased weight of chassis and body, was performance, and it is agreed that we should carry on as rapidly as possible with the experimental and develop-ment work in connection with what is known as the close centres head, which gives us about another 7 HP, and, if possible, get this on 5-B-IV; also if possible get on to it the centrally mounted radiator, the scheme for which has now been detailed and issued,

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} said that he would like the Experimental Dept. to try the vacuum controlled ignition which enables one to use higher compression without the disadvantage of detonation.

The opportunity might be taken of fitting this to Lp{Mr Lappin}'s car which has the higher compression, and then running it on standard fuel to see the result.

Dynamos. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} said that an air cooled dynamo for the Bentley would shortly be issued.

Supercharging the Bentley. Development and experimental work on this is continuing and one or two modifications are
