COMPLAINT CASE.
Re: Bentley Chassis No. B.145-AE.
Lt. Col. C.W.D. Rowe.
-------------------

We understand from this owner that he wrote to you direct on the 24th inst. with regard to certain special wishes he had, and which might receive attention while the car is with you.

He has now written to us on a further matter, and the following is an extract from his letter :-

"Whilst the car is there, I should be glad to know whether or not it is possible to fit auxiliary and adjustable dampers, as was, until recently, the case with the Phantom chassis. Whilst the shock absorbers fitted are a very fine compromise they can, of course, only be a compromise, and the degree of damping is not, as I have already experienced, adequate to certain roads at speed, and I am rather afraid that I should find this to be some disadvantage when I take the car on to the Continent at the end of next month.

It may be that you will ultimately fit the new PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I system or some modification of it, but in the meantime, it occurs to me that auxiliary friction dampers might meet the difficulty.

I should like to make it clear that I should not like to have the present dampers made any harder, as it is only at high speeds upon a bumpy road or a wavy road, that they are inadequate."

We have acknowledged this, and told him that you will deal with it and write to him direct. We shall be glad, however, to have a copy of your letter.
