Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} 361 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/R.25.1.38. Complaint of Stiff Change Speed Operation - Lord Doverdale 3-AZ-46. The latest type P.III box on which we have carried out experiments has a very much lighter gear change than the original, due to altered cone angle screw-thread cone surface, etc. If it is considered policy, we believe that this box would satisfy Lord Doverdale; on the other hand, it would be fatal to start a precedence to change gear boxes on all the P.III that are out because some people think it is hard work changing gear.
