STEERING 'V' SERIES. +8430 +457

With reference to the tests at present being
carried out on the steering and referred to in R4/M24.7.25.
We have as yet no information as to items 1 and 2, as the
manufacture of the parts required is not yet completed.
With regard to item 3. The spring damped pend-
ulum lever has already been reported on in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG17.7.25.
We cannot amplify the remarks contained in this memo. to
any great extent.
Our present series of tests are being carried
out with a view to obtaining the optimum condition of
driving springs and damping friction. We are not yet
satisfied that we have obtained the best possible results
from this device. All our tests have confirmed the very
marked benefit which we are obtaining with regard to low
speed steering wobbles.
