X.5792 Owing to some trouble with recent deliveries of R.O.1 sleeve type Watford 20 H.P. magnetos, i.e. poor slow speed operation more particularly, this type of magneto has also recently come up again for consideration. During March it is understood that nine of these had to be returned. We have, therefore, formulated a General Specification of requirements for a machine of this type, copy of which we have duly sent to Messrs. North. We have also sent out an enquiry (purely technical at the moment) to the B.T.H. Co., The Lucas Co., and The M.L. Co., giving them particulars and asking them if they would be prepared to give any consideration to the matter. It is agreed that we want a less costly magneto without a sleeve but giving a range of 58°, if possible, and one whose output will not damage the battery ignition distributor points. EFC. | ||
