X To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. c. Ds. 603' Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.5/WH.13.9.37. Confirming our conversation on Friday last regarding Widney bonnet hinges, when we examined an Armstrong Siddeley car fitted with this hinge, will you please produce and instruct a scheme for the Widney hinge on Wraith III bonnets. As was agreed, this will necessitate 16.S.W.G. (.064) aluminium top plates in conjunction with the present standard gauge side plates. We believe that Mr. Evernden has all particulars of the standard Widney hinges available, but if any further information is required we will arrange for Messrs. Hallam, Sleigh and Cheston's representative, Mr. Booth, to call and supply same. On Bentley III, the bonnet should have a Widney hinge and 16.S.W.G. (.064) top and side plates as B.B.IV. Csr.
