X4338 To R. {Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 3/T14.8.23. X.4338 - GOSHAWK ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Arrangements are being made for the production of warning plates to be placed on the battery and generator, containing your wording as follows :- WARNING. TO AVOID DAMAGE BY ACCIDENTAL USE OF CHARGING SWITCH WHEN THE BATTERY IS OUT OF ORDER OR DISCONNECTED, DETACH THE CENTRAL (EXCITING) WIRE FROM THE DYNAMO. In the meanwhile we have received from GJ. a suggestion that this wording should be reversed so as to read as follows :- WHEN THE BATTERY IS OUT OF ORDER OR DISCONNECTED, THE CENTRAL (EXCITING) WIRE SHOULD BE DETACHED FROM THE DYNAMO. OTHERWISE ACCIDENTAL USE OF THE CHARGING SWITCH MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS DAMAGE. Would you kindly let us know if you agree to this arrangement of the wording. EFC. {E.
