Dear Sir,

We understand from Mr. Robotham that you might be interested in the purchase of a 4¼ litre Bentley of the type we shall exhibit at the forthcoming Motor Show, and that you have expressed a preference for a Coupe body of the 4-door 4-light type.

Whilst it is correct that we shall show a car of this type on our Stand, we have already made engagements for it which will preclude our offering it for delivery until some considerable time subsequent to the Show.

We should, however, be pleased to offer a 4¼ litre chassis for delivery early in January 1940, and allowing the usual time for completion by the Coachbuilders, this car would be available by approximately the end of February. The price of such a car would be £1,535. 0. 0. (One Thousand, Five Hundred and Thirtyfive Pounds), subject to it being finished in the normal manner and embodying the standard equipment. Delivery would be at our premesisiin London.

Against the price of the new car we would make an allowance of £400. 0. 0. (Four Hundred Pounds) for your existing 3½ litre Bentley car No. B-72-BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} This would be subject to confirmation by us after we have had an opportunity of inspecting the car and conditional on your handing it over to us at the date of your acceptance of this offer. Should you decide to retain your present car until the new one is ready, the allowance figure would be subject to adjustment in conformity with the prices ruling at the date.

At your convenience perhaps you will kindly
