Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 16/R.30.6.39. 4-door 'Corniche'. I suggest that it would be impolitic to emphasise the large increase in speed which we have obtained from tyres on the 'Corniche' when discussing the matter with Sg. {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} , because the same tyres were available on the 'Paulin' Bentley, and, of course, can be used in any publicity run. I suggest that the best thing to say about this car is that we can obtain a lap speed of 109 M.P.H. for publicity purposes, and that the car will lap Brooklands at over 100 M.P.H. in standard trim as sold to the public. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Gy Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Bm (Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} aloud) I entirely agree. I did not intend to allocate performance to various factors, but accept the whole as it stands, By | ||
