For the attention of Mr.C.H.Brooks.

Dear Sirs,

We should like another two sets of pistons having the heat break sawcut in the scraper ring groove and increased taper skirt as soon as possible, in fact we should like them within a fortnight if possible.

We should also like these fitted with the usual compression rings but with 32 lbs/sq.in. Scraper rings (i.e.) "D" type as supplied previously.

We are wondering what ring wear will be like with the high pressure scraper rings, the only set that we have run for any length of time seem to shew more wear than normal, but, we should of course like to confirm this and since these were run with pistons having the heat break sawcut in the ring groove, we shall then be repeating our previous test as nearly as possible.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
