We are in receipt of your letter of the 31st. with regard to the Petrol Filters, but do not quite understand your remarks. We would respectfully point out that we have never made a filter up to the present with a different diameter of disc to our standard. What we have done is to increase the gap between the disc from .05 m/m to .07 m/m but we have kept to the same outside diameter. We had found that a filter with a .07 m/m gap passed considerably more petrol without interfering with the efficiency, because a piece of dirt that would pass through the .07 m/m gap was much smaller than any of the orifices used in carburetters, so that there would be no chance of the jet becoming choked up.
