Phantom III - Rear Brakes.

With reference to the die cast aluminium shoes G.35216 for the hand brake, we have been asked by Mr Wheeler whether the inner flange can be made symmetrical about the centre line of the shoe when seen in a cross section of the shoe such as at AA{D. Abbot-Anderson} on the above drawing. s at present shewn the flange is .362 wide from the centre line on one side and .350 on the other side.

We understand from By/TWD{T. W. D???Aeith} that the lack of symmetry has come about from a continuation of the former practice with sand castings in dealing with the machining of the pad on section CC, and that as with the die cast shoe the machining is deleted, the flange can now be made as shown by section CC, i.e. .725 wide and symmetrical throughout.

Will you, therefore, kindly instruct this modification.
