1021 12th December, 1940. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAG.1/ET. Jack Follett, Esq., "Triplex" Safety Glass Co., Ltd., 1, Albermarle Street, Piccadilly, LONDON W. 1. Dear Mr. Follett., I have been a long time replying to your letter of 22nd November. We have received the sample back light about a week ago. This appears to me to be a very nice job. The main thing I am concerned with is what degree of accuracy you can guarantee. I appreciate that, with toughened glass, there is much more latitude than with the old fashioned bent glass. The sample we have got is only bent in one direction. I am wondering, should we ask for glasses to be bent in two directions, whether there would be a tendency for the glass to be flat in the centre, as in bending in two directions, it would necessitate the glass stretching in the centre of the sheet. We should be glad to know how much notice you would require to produce a sample back light. We are thinking of having a sample body built at Messrs. Park Wards, Willesden, and I should like to let them know the length of time you would require, so that we can let you have the necessary information in good time. Regarding the sample light you have sent us, I will return this to you at a later date. Should you require it quickly, please let us know and we will return it immediately. Kindest regards, Yours sincerely, | ||
