Cyl - G 4321 March 4, 1921 Mr. Claude Johnson, Managing Director, Rolls-Royce Ltd., London, England. Attention: Mr. Hives Dear Sir:- Re: Michelin and Disteel Wheels We should appreciate a report as early as possible on the behavior of American Michelin (Budd) and Disteel wheels, of which trial sets were sent to Derby some months ago. We are having numerous inquiries for both these types from customers, and at present can only tell them that we can-not recommend them, not having tested them ourselves, and that therefore they affect our guarantee. The effect on the riding of the car with American cord tires and these wheels should be especially noted, because we have heard opinions that the disc wheels are not able to absorb shocks as well as wood or wire wheels, and are liable to cause trouble in the running gear.
