X.4158a X 4158B AMERICAN BUDD AND DISTEEL WHEELS. With reference to Mr. Olley's note OY1/G4.3.21. We have not been able at present to carry out any exhaustive tests with these two types of wheels. We have run the standard Michelin disc wheels for over 10,000 miles and have also fitted 100 sets of these wheels to Armoured Cars. We think, of the two sets of wheels sent to us from America, the American Budd wheel is the most satisfactory. It is lighter and very much neater in appearance and better to clean. We are fitting Michelin disc wheels on cars for customers who demand them. With regard to the effect of the riding of the car. We have heard of the same thing but we have not been able to prove it by actual tests. The fact of the tyre pressure being slightly lower should counteract any slight difference which might be in the resilience of the wheel. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
