X111D Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.9/KW. 13th February, 1936. The Borg & Beck Co.Ltd., Tachbrook Road, Leamington Spa. For the attention of Mr. Barker. Dear Sirs, Confirming our telephone conversation with Mr. Shimkins this morning, the 11" production clutches we are ordering from you should be to your specification EB.252 dated 19.12.35. but with green thrust springs of 105-115 lbs. loading instead of the cream ones, and S.82 eyebolts. Balance should be to 1/2 oz. inch as in the case of the 10" size and should be adjusted by the improved method which leaves the pressure plate independently balanced. We should be glad of a new specification giving these particulars, and would like 3 copies of it. We have run tests on an 11" clutch with green thrust springs in a 20/25 HP. chassis, and find them to be adequate. We are anxious to fit these springs because the clutch pedal is unduly heavy with the cream ones. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
