The positions of the ball pin on the steering lever on the wheel are obtained by measurement only, and may not be strictly accurate. They should, however, be reasonable as a basis. We have shown the box outlines from your drawings 3-328 and 4-717, merely as a guide to what alteration in box position is probable. Examination of the car suggests that there should be room for either box in the positions shown, and that the raising of the column caused by placing the rocker shaft below it, can also be accommodated. We shall be glad of any comments you may have to make on our suggestions, and any further suggestions you may have to make yourselves. Our preference would be for the type of box you are already making for us as opposed to the Burman- Douglas type, if this can be arranged. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED, DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} | ||
