(2) (3) It was agreed that whilst all our evidence indicates the need of a flexible mounting such as the Floatex to reduce tyre noise, we will keep an open mind on the matter of the body mounting. (4) It was agreed that we should proceed on the assumption that P.W. will make the bonnets for B.3. and B.50, and where necessary supply B.3 bonnets to other coachbuilders. With reference to the bonnets of P.3. and Bentley on production, P.W. are to say what paint they would like us to apply in the place of that which we now use, and which they say they have to remove before painting the bonnet finally. (5) It was agreed that when the wing and step board design was finalised it would be endeavoured to place the step brackets to follow the curve of the underside of the step board allowing a .500" packing. It was agreed also that if P.W. would supply a scheme shewing the shape of the underside of the step boards on the 6 light and 4 light standardised bodies for the wide frame 25/30 HP. we will endeavour to treat the step brackets as suggested above for B.3. and B.50. Meeting continued in afternoon. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} and Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} absent. (1) In order to allow the boot floor on standard wide frame 25/30 HP. bodies to be lowered 2.000", it was agreed to take the petrol tank vent pipe in front of the gauge instead of behind. Subsequently a design will be made for test of a petrol gauge in the face of the tank where it will not interfere with the coachwork. (2) It was thought that we should provide a strong rear bumper fixing for the Wide Frame 25/30 HP. specially in view of the large rear overhang of the proposed Standardise bodies to be produced by P.W. (46 1/2"). cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} | ||
