X4086 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Mr Booth from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Sp.{Mr Spinney} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} RECEIVED MAR 1 1922 BY11-P1.3.22. GOSHAWK II. RE THREE CARS INTENDED FOR THE 10000 MILES TRIAL IN FRANCE. I have just received the following wire from Sp{Mr Spinney}, in response to an enquiry as to what type of steering columns the bodies had been built for. "Goshawk Saloon allweather touring all D, type steering" You will notice from the wire in question that all three bodies have been made suitable for D, type steering. Will Mr Booth at once issue instructions to the Works to produce all three of the 10000 miles trial chassis with D, type columns, pedals and footboards. In view of them all being D, type, the following points should be noted, in order to prevent confusion; We have actually issued instructions for two axles fitted with 13 teeth pinions and one axle with a 14 tooth. It is essential that the 14 tooth pinion should be fitted to the open touring car. Will those responsible for seeing the chassis despatched give plain instructions as to which chassis is fitted with the 14 tooth axle. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
