RE. GOSHAWK.

Your CJ6/E28.2.22. With reference to the suggestion for running one of the 10,000 miles Goshawks by an amateur driver isolated from skilled assistance from the works. We suggest that we supply to the Sales Dept. a fourth chassis and that the Sales Dept. should have this fitted with a body and find their own amateur driver and make all the arrangements for running the Car. This is to ensure that the Works will not interfere with the car in any way.

It is considered that the three cars which are being prepared for the 10,000 miles trials' should all be run under works skilled supervision as we should do all we know how to anticipate failures and so save time. It is proposed that the three cars should have a base at some place, such as - Avignon and that a small private garage should be obtained for the purpose. The one car would be run night and day so as to cover 10,000 miles in one month. It is proposed that the other two cars would be run in the day-time only, and that various routes would be chosen for these two cars so as to cover all kinds of country - some of the runs being located in the Alps, and some of them on fast runs on level roads. We consider that by so doing, we should gain the most valuable information. A log will be kept of each car and no adjustments or repairs will be done to the cars unless they fail and in any case, all attention given to them will be duly recorded in the log.
