To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} & Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} From RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 1124 RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}8/MJ.16.12.37. FOUR-PORT CYLINDER HEAD. We are having considerable difficulty in producing the Castings for the first type four-port cylinder head and so far have not succeeded in producing a sound casting. In the meantime good progress has been made with the four-port cylinder head with increased water space, so much so that it is in advance of the first type and since it does not present the difficulties in casting we recommend that this should be introduced on Production immediately. In view of the circumstances all details in connection with the first type have been held up and we should be pleased if you would release the details for the finalised four-port cylinder head and let us know whether you are in agreement that this should be fitted to Production in place of the first type. We consider that this should be so since the Foundry Charges will be much lower. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} | ||
