With further reference to my note Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}4/WJ. 18.7.35, we have now received 500 gallons of 100 octane Fuel and shall soon require the pistons and special heads necessary to take full advantage of this high knock rating. The Air Ministry are interested in our work on this fuel and have asked that we connect up our running with the previous work we have done on detonation on the Kestrel and P.V.G. Units. Will E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} therefore please put in hand a 8/1 piston for the Kestrel Single Cylinder and make sure that we have a 7/1 piston representing the latest piston practice.
