the length of the engine and demand a longer bonnet, possibly a longer chassis.

We have since made another investigation and think that by making the engine only .750 longer overall, and the head slightly wider it would be possible to put up the bore to 3.5" at any future time.

The cylinder centres being expanded .125" enable us to correspondingly increase the valve and gas passage diameters.

It will therefore be possible to offer two engines of different capacities differing only in respect to cylinder blocks and pistons.

It will be realised that this power unit would necessarily be larger and heavier.

We attach herewith RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}'s table of displacement per ton mile with these new dimensions added on the assumption that the overall weight remains unaltered.
