LIVERPOOL.

Dear Sir,

As you are probably aware, six members of the Rolls-Royce Co. have already made the double journey between England and the United States of America this year. They have all travelled by the Cunard White Star Line.

The under-signed, and Mr. Elliott, sailed by the "Queen Mary" on February 17th, and before leaving booked return cabins on the "Berengaria" on April 15th.

They were told that the "Berengaria" was fully booked on the return journey, and that the only accommodation that could be offered was a double cabin, which was refused. Just before sailing, however, two single cabins were offered which were accepted as being the best available at the time.

Several weeks later a demand was received from the Cunard Co. for a further payment of 49 dollars from the under-signed, and a slightly less amount from Mr. Elliott, in order to secure an outside cabin.

Being on the move continually in the States at the time, it was not possible to query this charge personally, but our Agent in the U.S.A., Mr. Inskip, made repeated attempts to get this charge reduced, without any result, the reason being given that the accommodation on the ship was absolutely booked up.

When we actually sailed, in spite of the fact that a number of passengers from an American ship (the crew of which had struck) were taken on at the last minute,
