Beeston 54647 41583 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}10/KW. 3rd November, 1934. R.J.W. Massey, Esq., 10, Middleton Crescent, Beeston, Notts. Dear Mr. Massey, Mr. Hives has asked me to let you know of the running and results we have had with both Hi Press and C.W. oils. The former has been used on two 40/50 (hypoid) rear axles dynamometer tests which include a short run at full torque on 1st gear, and the axles are reported to be in excellent condition. We are shortly running a 10,000 miles test in France on a 20/25 spiral bevel axle and Bentley hypoid axle on Hi Press oil, and shall be able to let you know the results in about 2 months. As you probably know, Ransome & Marles have run a bearing 500 hours with very little carbon deposit. As to C.W. oil, this has been used for test bed work on the development engine of the T.T. type and was used by Hall at Shelsley. Yours sincerely, | ||
