1280 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.3/AP. February 1st.1938 The Stainless Spinning Works, 182 Miller Street, BIRMINGHAM. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr.Brake. You will recollect that Mr.Blake visited these Works in October, 1937, and discussed the question of manufacture and cost of spun brass thread inserts with the writer - also you later supplied inserts and some wooden plugs for test purposes. During our discussion the figure of 4d. per insert was given as being an approximate cost - we are now thinking of using inserts similar to those supplied but actually to drawing Ex.S.458 (print attached) We would like you to let us have your quotation for supplying these spinnings - (a) in lots of 200 (b) in lots of 1000 as soon as possible. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
