DIVIDED BENCH SEATS

In reply to your memo LS/EN 7 18 12 59, I have now obtained comparative prime cost figures as follows :

£
Present cost per car set of
bench type front seat 72

Estimated cost per car set
of divided front seat 80

Gnr considers the present material cost of the bench type front seat can be reduced by approximately £2 to give a total prime cost of £70 this would then involve a differential in prime cost of £10 between the two types of seat.

In addition to the increase in prime cost of the divided front seats it is estimated that the production of this type of seat would involve a tooling cost of approximately £850.

The cost information above in all cases excludes the cost of fall tables, ashtrays, etc.
