Jds. X457 CWB6/DN25.3.26. TO BJ c. to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} & Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM CWB 20 HP Low Speed Steering Wobbles. I discussed this matter with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} and Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} at "W" on the 24th March. It was stated by Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that this complaint could be definitely cured. In most cases it would be sufficient to deal with the matter on the lines of Depot Sheet No. 518 which was issued by EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} yesterday. Item 1 and item 2 of these instructions are the essential features which do make some difference, but there might be special cases in which the owner had already experienced a wobble and would test the car very severely in this respect, in which it was advisable to make a further alteration to one of the steering pivots reverting to the general type which we employed for the 20 HP before the introduction of front wheel brakes. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is carrying out the necessary experiments so as to be in a position to make a very definite recommendation on this matter at an early date. CWB [Signature: Cud] | ||
