Dear Sir,

Re: 3.B.50.

We confirm our remarks to you and your comments on the design of the above as shewn to you, both at your Works on Friday last, and at our Works during your visit.

The Six-light design was generally approved (our PD.269).

It was suggested that the Four-light body be made not by keeping the same back and a longer rear door, but by using the same rear door and a new back, having a shorter quarter, but the same configuration of boot in order to have a common boot lid.{A. J. Lidsey}

We produced a design during your visit to shew this to you, with promising results.

We understand that you will confirm your remarks that a new rear or back panel pressing entails less die, jigs and tool cost, than a new rear door after your visit to the die makers, Messrs.Musgrove & Green on Wednesday, and also will give us an approximate estimate of the extra cost this proposal will entail.

We proposed and it was agreed, that we then make designs of these two bodies, and send them to you to make a wood and plywood mock-up of the Six-light body.
