S/W. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. x6116. re- Headlamps. WST Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}14/KW12.2.35. We have now decided, until such time as we can get something better, to provide as standard on all our chassis both R-R and Bentley a dual form of headlamp control- (a) by means of a foot switch, (b) by means of an auxiliary switch on the instrument board. One operates the double dippers, the other the dip and switch. This scheme appears to be standard on at least one car that we have tried, i.e. the 3½ litre Lagonda and it is a good scheme. As to whether we shall make the foot switch operate the double dippers or the dip and switch scheme we have not yet made up our minds, but the chances are, in view of the general trend of opinion, that we shall arrange for the foot switch to control the dip and switch arrangement and the hand switch to control the double dippers. If, and when, a better scheme is available we can then consider altering this arrangement if we wish to do so. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} P.S. Please see also copy of Cx{Major Len W.
