Production Position and Comments
Cost of Tools £ 300.0.0d.
Solid rocker gear to be introduced at 1st. chassis in 'D' series, reduces Factory cost of Chassis by £21.15.8d., due to deletion of hydraulic tappets and simplification of bottom tappet clamps.
Nett. cost of material rendered scrap is £1350.0.0d. and tool cost is £300.0.0d. (principally for new camshaft and tappet block tools).
The combined tool and scrap cost of £1650.0.0d. will be recovered after producing 76 chassis with solid tappets, and a decrease in Policy and Guarantee charges is also anticipated with the simplified design.
Authorisation to Proceed.
Introduce on the 1 Chassis in D Series.
