Description: 6.50 x 17 INDIA TYRES TYPE "BENTLEY SILENT TYRE".
Purpose: To improve silence and road holding.
Brief Report and Remarks
Tyres of this size have run 15,000 miles in France on 3.B.IV. The silent variety will shortly have run in France on 6.B.IV. At the recommended cold pressures of 25 Front and 28 Rear the car keeps a straighter course than on the present tyres.
Oversteering on corners is reduced and the ride improved.

New section tyres and wheels to be introduced at first chassis in 'M' series involve an increase in cost of £3.7.4d. per chassis No tool cost is involved but it is understood that the Dunlop Co. are claiming £100.0.0d. for scrap material already in existence when the new wheels were ordered for 'E' series. This matter is to be discussed between O.O. and Dunlop representative in the near future.
