I am forwarding the pinion separately to you for your examination and opinion, also the drop of oil that was left in the axle. The teeth are badly scored. Is this the result of being short of oil, as the amount I am sending is all that could be drained from the axle? or is it due to hardening process being faulty, or the wrong kind of oil? From an examination of the axle, the oil had been escaping from the nose piece, none down the axle tubes. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} | ||
