R.{Sir Henry Royce} 225 a (400 T) (S.C. & Co. 15-5-16) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 1546. To Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} from EPC. C. to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} C. to RH.{R. Hollingworth} 28th September 1916. EFCB/MP28916. X.2642 POWER AND EFFICIENCY TESTS OF CAR STARTER MOTOR. Mr. Olley has instructed me to make the above tests. After having been in conversation with Mr. Ellis, as to the availability of the necessary armatures etcfor this purpose we have decided to take up Mr. Olley's suggestion of making use of the complete motor out of 7-CA. We shall be glad, therefore, if you will give the necessary instructions for this motorto be removed from the car. This should be handed over to Mr. Ellis for cleaning. Mr. Ellis has promised that he wil get together another motor with a different type of armatures, to relace this in the car as soon as possible; but in the meanwhile we wish to go ahead with the tests, as Mr. Royce is asking for this to be done at the very earliest.
