-5- (22) REAR HUBS. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} pointed out that we were getting a very big cost reduction by purchasing through Messrs. Alford & Alder and requested that any further supplies should be purchased from these people. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} pointed out that they would be here on Monday when we would try to get a set for Bentley and Wraith for the 15,000 miles' test. (23) SERVO MOTOR MECHANISM. By/Mtn. promised details in a week's time, Dec. 1st. As the major parts are the Wraith servo the fact that it is behind is not considered alarming. (24) CENTRAL STEERING LEVERS. HFS. pointed out that dies had been sunk and six sets of levers obtained. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} said there would be no difficulty about setting up the levers in order to obtain the new position of the ball end shown on his latest scheme. HFS. was asked to look into the matter and see if this was so. By/Mtn. said he would go into this. (25) FRONT PAN. It is important that we should get the final scheme for the front pan and Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} stated he thought By/Mtn. would be able to let HFS. have the detail drawing of the final scheme to-morrow (the 25th instant). (26) SPRING SUSPENSION. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} said a new spherical arm was required for this which he would let HFS. have on Monday. The triangle levers have been modified owing to the alterations of the front shock absorber and are considered of vital importance. By/Mtn. will endeavour to get detail drawings of this at the same time as the shock absorber casing in order that castings may be obtained. | ||
