The S.U.Company Ltd.,
Bordesley Green Road,
Adderley Park,
BIRMINGHAM.

For the attention of Mr.Leslie Kent.

Dear Sirs,

We are returning to you today under separate cover one Bentley and one H.P. petrol pump RB.{R. Bowen}2005 and G51755.

In the case of the Bentley Pump this has been modified and marked G.5.S.C. This pump was taken direct out of stock, one side failed, and the other was down to minimum delivery. Mr. Hancock dismantled it and reports the following troubles.

(1) Woodshavings in the valve chamber.
(2) Offside unit stroke too short.
(3) Armature out of thruth with the spindle.
(4) Eibre washer overlapping the pole piece and fouling the armature.
(5) Brass washers too small in diameter.

We have dismantled this pump and confirmed faults 3,4 and 5, the rollers being .428 to .4285" diameter are attached to the pump.

Only one contact is in operation on one unit.

In addition to the above both pole pieces are .008" out of centre. It was agreed that pumps for modification should be centred to .003" using the end cutter and in this case the addition of 'C' to the existing G5S is not justified.

The High Pressure Pump we are returning has the following defects :-
