SECRET 1300 To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}12/AP.13.1.37. Ph.III. and 25/30 Steering Costs. The chromium plating of our outer steering column tubes costs £1. 0. 0. per car, mainly due to the time required for polishing. We wish to be able to demonstrate a tube with only the upper fitting F.88190 chromium plated and the tube black stove enamelled. Will you please finish the second and third Wraith tubes and the Continental Ph.III. Bumper tube in this way. One of these tubes can then be fitted to the first chassis in place of the present chromium plated one. In addition, will you please finish a standard Phantom III. tube in this way so that we can fit it to one of our Ph.III. cars. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev.
