Dear Sirs,
Re your order No. 90686 for patch instrument for Mr. Royce's car.
You will recollect the circumstances in which we had to forward this instrument without the special enamel finished dial by Willis, owing to our having cracked the enamel when trying to drill it.
At the time of despatch we promised to replace the hand-written dial as soon as Willis had completed and drilled another 175 dial for us. Upon receipt of this, we have found it impracticable to send it on to you to be fitted to the old patch instrument body, owing to the fact that the holes have not been jig drilled, and the two dials might not be exactly interchangeable.
