Hallam - Head Repairs} RECEIVED 1931 MAY 23 X8783. 4S AB/H.22.5.31. re Chassis 34 XJ - Gardner We think that memo EJBL/EG.16.5.31 has been written under a misapprehension. Possibly we have unwittingly contributed to this by not saying something about the starter when returning it to "W". We knew definitely that the repair is chargeable to the owner, consequently we did not ask for any report, or realise that someone else would think there was something peculiar about it. The driver told us when bringing the car in that the owner, when driving, stopped his engine in traffic. He attempted to start up again, at the same time forgetting to put the car out of gear. A terrific crash came from the starter motor, which went completely out of action. All we now require is to know your charges so that we can invoice the whole job to the owner. A.{Mr Adams} S.B | ||
