Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} For Depot Sheet. x7820 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/MJ. 9.7.30. PHANTOM 11 TYRE PRESSURES. We find as a result of tests carried out on finished cars that it is feasible to run front tyre pressures at 35 lbs/sq.in. without spoiling the steering. We therefore consider that this tyre pressure should be recommended in a Depot Sheet and in the Instruction Book as an alternative for town use and normal English conditions, as it greatly improves the riding of the car. We have already recommended that rear tyre pressures should be dropped to 30 lbs/sq.in. under similar conditions. We would emphasize that if these low pressures are used for high speed touring the life of the tyres will suffer very seriously. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} | ||
