6.B.IV - Bentley. Unit No.24.
15,000 miles test car.

Will you please carry out the following :-

(1) Remove engine unit and dismantle and rebuild as instructed in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}10/JH.9.11.37.

(2) If clutch appears oily dismantle for examination by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/WRC. otherwise do not disturb. Fit new withdrawal thrust bearing as existing is very noisy.

(3) Fit overdrive gearbox complete with standard clutch housing as instructed.

(4) Rear axle. Fit special .005" pre load pinion bearing and Hoffman R.135LL. bearing for differential, supplied by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}

(5) Brakes. Reline front brakes with Thermoid D.351B Supply a spare set of four front brake shoes lined with Ferodo BZ to be taken with car.

Fit short anti-judder balancer levers in place of present special long levers and production case hardened spindles all to N.Sch.4865. Incorporate Ebonia bronze bushes packed with KG.20 grease in place of existing Oilite bushes for balancer levers and anti-rattle scheme to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}350.

Fit rear brake expander plungers as instructed in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/APM.13/MH.{M. Huckerby}8.11.37. rear brake shoes in l/c lined with Ferodo RU as instructed in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/APM.2/MH.{M. Huckerby}25.10.37. and iron brake drums front and rear as instructed in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/APM.8/MH.{M. Huckerby}3.11.37.

(6) Remove front and rear shock dampers and hand to W.Bell for attention to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} instructions.

(7) Dismantle main exhaust suspension bracket and examine for fouling. Re-fit to eliminate knocks.

Set tail pipe between main silencer and spun filled portion so that rear end suspension bracket is in standard position, as spare tyre is burnt when luggage boot is open with tail pipe in present position.
