(3) reason why it should not be done according to the way the marine engine is shaping as regards H.P. (From reports from the Works this engine is giving more H.P. than the Sluggard engine at equal compressions.) The doubtful point is whether the bearings are sufficiently long. A still larger oil pump should be fitted, i.e. still further increase length of the gear wheels or make coarser pitch. Fix larger suction pipe and filter.
