Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Ds. SpectreCodename for Phantom III and Wraith Gearboxes. With regard to the steel housings in the box for the ball bearings which carry the sliding rod for the 2nd speed, Mr Cockshott has suggested that in view of the light loads on these, a high Brinell surface hardness may be all that is necessary. We agree that this should be tried, and suggest that say two of the SpectreCodename for Phantom III boxes about to be made should have pieces so treated. HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
