R.R. 255A (100 T) (S. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 159, 11-8-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2800 [Handwritten] Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} - down to earth Positive action Lets get one made & tested! o2o Contd. again before Mr. Royce to either approve of the design of heater to be standardized or to design a heater which could be made by R.R. X.4005 We are carrying out experiments at Derby with an Exhaust heater which we have made ourselves.* We have taken a connection from the Silencer and are using an ordinary steam cock for a valve. We fixed the heating pipes inside the body to suit the convenience of the coach-work. We will let Springfield have more information as regards this when the tests are completed. In the meantime we should like the views of R.R. America whether they consider it would suit them if we made a connection on the silencer for connecting up an exhaust heater and supply the valve. If there is a connection on the silencer and one has a satisfactory valve, we consider the rest of the heater is simply a question of pipe work. [Handwritten] a potentially satisfactory idea soundly based hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
