R R.{Sir Henry Royce} 285a (100 T) (S.H. 798.10-12-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 1948 EFC. from Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} C.C. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} C.C. to Du. RECEIVED X 3513. Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}12/NJ15.7.21. X.3513 - Sample Bakelite Insulations for experimental purposes. I confirm mine Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}2/NJ11.7.21. I have ascertained from the Lucas Electrical Co.Ltd. that the insulating material similar to Bakelite Micarta which they are now using is supplied to them by the Diamond Fibre Co., Tottenham, London, who call the material Condensite Celeron. The Lucas Elect.Co. understand that this is manufactured by the Diamond State Fibre Co., Bridgeport, U.S.A. I have written the Diamond Fibre Co., Tottenham, asking them to send us two samples each 6" x 6" and about 1/16" thick, for testing purposes. The same will be handed to EFC. on arrival.
