EFC. from Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} c.to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c.to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} X.3513 Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}3/NJ21.7.21. X.3513 - Sample Bakelite Insulations for experimental purposes. In Thr's report, Thr1/CB12.7.21, he mentioned that the Lucas Electrical Co.Ltd. are using Bakelite Micarta for insulating purposes in switchboxes. I wrote the Lucas Co. asking them for the address of the firm from whom they obtained this material and they replied that although the material shown to Mr.Thacker is similar to Bakelite Micarta, it is called Condensite Celeron and is supplied by the Diamond Fibre Co.Ltd., High Road, South Tottenham, N.15. An enquiry which I sent to this firm has brought a reply, dated 19th inst. together with two samples, 6" x 6" x 1/16" thick, of what they term their canvas base, grade F, Condensite Celeron. The letter and the samples, together with the catalogue mentioned in the letter are being sent with this note to EFC. I have not kept a copy of the letter; therefore if supplies of Condensite Celeron are required, I shall need said letter to enable me to pass the order forward.
