July 6th 1940. W.A.Robotham, Esq., Rolls-Royce, Ltd., DERBY. Dear Mr.Robotham, Many thanks for yours of the 3rd July Ref.Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/ML., further concerning Electric Clocks from which I am very pleased to learn that you are prepared to run a batch of six on one of your Experimental cars. These are being prepared and they will be available in approximately fourteen days. In order that the test may be complete may I suggest that in case the car to which you propose fitting these Clocks is not on regular use, you very kindly keep a log of its running each day during the period of trial. The Clocks which we shall deliver to you will have a plus performance inside five minutes per week under normal running conditions and I can confidently state that in these circumstances they will give satisfactory service. I trust, therefore, you will be able to instal the instruments on a car which is in regular use. | ||
