3 To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Mr. Hardy (Clan Foundry). Lr{Mr Ellor}/HWS.1/VR.{E. S. Voller - Orders} 9.8.40. RE :- ACCELEROMETER FOR GUN BARREL. With reference to the scheme discussed, namely an inertia-controlled/capacity gap, further consideration of the quantities involved has led us to believe that the capacity arrangement will be advantageously replaced by one employing a variable inductance. It will be possible to effect a direct calibration. Sketches for the parts for this unit are being prepared and will be issued to HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} as rapidly as possible. Tht unit will be employed in a manner similarly to that already laid down, namely to produce a direct record of acceleration against a base of time. Lr{Mr Ellor}/HWS. | ||
