To HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} X4257 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/M16.4.25. BRAKE SQUEAKS. X.4257 X.4259 X.3531 While I have been away I have tried a Morris-Cowley with squeak dampers consisting of a strip of ferodo 1" wide and 3/16" thick pushed on to the middle of the outside of the drum a fairly tight fit. The joint is made by lacing, and there is no metal. We do not suggest that this scheme is possible for us, but it does not interfere much with the cooling, being only about 1/3 of the width of the drum. It is very light and simple, and suggests that something like it might possibly be tried. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
